How to Replace an audi a3 keys G28 Engine Speed Sensor

1. Engine Speed Sensor
The grey wire is situated at the edges of the transmission, above the flywheel ring. This sensor sends signals through the grey wire to pin T55/49. The ECU uses this information to control boost and fuel. It also sends signals to the G5 tachometer in the instrument cluster.
The sensor is used as a reference point to connect with the G40 Camshaft Position Sensor. The ecu has to know when the crankshaft has reached TDC and also the position of the camshaft, in order to activate the spark and injectors.
If this sensor fails to function, the ECU will display an error code P00160. This means that the Crank Shaft is out of line with the Intake Camshaft. It could also be a sign of an issue with the chain or a jump in the chain link of the upper chain. The code won't show without the additional information supplied by other sensors (G4 or G40).
It is a little tricky to test since there are different pins on the connector and each has its own functions. The best way to do it is to measure the resistance between the ECU and the sensor. When the sensor is fully operational, it should be reading about 1000 ohms. Check for signs of coolant, or oil in the connector bay if you are experiencing issues with this component.
2. Injectors
Yesterday, as i was accelerating off the highway paytoll at a high speed I noticed a significant reduction in power. It was as if the engine had run out of gas. Or my injectors weren't firing. I pulled out the spark plugs this morning and found that 3 were drenched in gasoline and the fourth was unclean. I put a piece of tissue over each injector hole and when i turn the engine on without sparks, the 3 with gazoline jump right out. The fourth one remains closed. I tried to test the ground connections of ECU pins 14,30 and 48/55. I got 0ohm. I'm assuming that the issue is in another location.
I also tried to reset the PID with no success. The car will start when the G28 is disconnected, but it is running fine with the G28 plugged in. However, the intermittent misfire problem continues to occur at higher RPM. The coolant sensor (G62), even when unplugged, still shows a temperature of -49c. I also noticed that the oil gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bar while the actual pressure is 0.
I'm not certain what to do, but i feel i have pretty much eliminated everything else. But i am afraid i might have missed something. Please let me know If you have any suggestions! TIA!
3. Fuel Pump
The fuel pump in the g28 can be activated by a signal sent by the RPM sensor. The GM-style transmitter is identical to the G4 sender, and both operate on the 80,100,200, UrS, and RS2 vehicles. You can easily locate a spare in a wrecking shop or parts store. Test them out by putting your DMM in resistance mode and take measurements between pins 1 (with the bump on the connector's side up) and 2 (2nd from the left on the black connector's side). They should be infinite Ohms.
4. ECU
The ECU in our 20vt turbo (3B AAN ABY) engines must be aware of the position and speed the crankshaft to determine timing of the fuel injector, etc. It utilizes a Crank Position Sensor G4 and an Engine Speed Sensor G28 to achieve this.
